2009 Year End Home Sales, Sunapee Region

by Dan O'Halloran on January 15, 2010

As you will see in the chart below the exact same number of properties changed hands in 2008 as 2009! Out of the 16 towns that I track on this blog for the Sunapee Region there were 390 homes that sold in 2008 and 2009. The difference however is in the sales price.  The median sales price dropped from $235,000 down to $200,000.  It will be very interesting to see how 2010 goes but I’d like to think that we have finally reached the bottom in our area and prices will stay level. Please see below.

As you will see in the following charts, New London home sales actually increased by 77.4% compared to 2008! I think that this is pretty important to take note of as the average sales price in New London is the lowest it’s been since 2005. So, low home prices and amazing rates is what I’m attributing to the increase in transactions in the New London area.

Below are some charts taking a much closer look at home sales in individual towns in the area. If you click on the image, the charts will become much bigger and easier to see. If you have any questions, comments, please don’t hesitate to shoot me an email or leave a comment here.
