December 2009 Sunapee Region Real Estate Sales

Happy New Year!

I feel like winter had a slow start this year but it is suddenly trying to play catch up! It’s snowing out as I write and I have to say that this is by far one of my favorite times of the year. We get tons of people coming up to the area to enjoy Mount Sunapee and all the winter activities our area provides. Everyone is in good spirits as those who enjoy snow and powder always seem to have that special grin of total enjoyment (I was skiing in knee deep powder on Sunday!)

I will be compiling my usual year end real estate home sales and land sales stats over the next few days. At the moment, sales this past month were down 21% compared to last year.

It’s interesting to note that most of our clients who build or renovate on Lake Sunapee do not cite the lake as the compelling reason for building a vacation or retirement home here. Instead, they say that the great skiing at Mount Sunapee Resort is the primary factor – of course combined with the lake and all of the other great amenities that we have here in the Lake Sunapee region.
