Lake Sunapee Region Home Sales March 2013

What a month March was! Home sales more than doubled with 51 sales when compared to March 2012 that only had 25 sales. Year to date home sales are up 12.5% compared to the same time frame in 2012. From what I’m seeing in the market, if a property is priced right it does not last long before a buyer comes in. This “urgency” of decision making is definitely something that has not been around in a long time. I started my career in real estate almost 8 years ago and for the first time I am now telling buyers that if a house fits what they are looking for and the numbers work it’s time to make a decision. If you wait, chances are good that property won’t be available. So if you are out there looking, get your ducks in row and be prepared to take advantage of the historically low prices and rates!

Lake Sunapee Region Home Sales February 2013

This February 2013 home sales in the Lake Sunapee Region were down 12.9% when compared to February 2012. Median price year-to-date is up just over $4,000 when compared to 2012, at $187,450. Even though sales for February were down slightly compared to last year, our market has been extremely busy. The current inventory is still quite low although that is improving each day as we ease into the Spring market.

4th Annual NH SkiUp at Mount Sunapee!

Spring skiing is all about fun and the sun. Couple that with incredible BBQ, hundreds of awesome people, prizes, charitable giving, quality networking and that’s NH SkiUp at Mount Sunapee on March 16^th.

NH SkiUp was created as a way to bring local businesses in the Lake Sunapee Region slopeside to Mt. Sunapee. Sunapee tends to be a day trip resort, so we thought why not showcase some of the awesome local food vendors and businesses in a good old-fashioned tailgate. Our tailgating food has been generously donated, featuring buffalo burgers and sausages from Yankee Farmer’s Market, massive Italian Subs from Marzelli Deli and ridiculous pulled pork from the Appleseed Restaurant featuring Pete’s amazing BBQ sauce.

It’s only $55 to enjoy the festivities which include an all day ski pass (before March 9^th), raffle ticket and lunch. If you already have a ski pass or just want to attend it is just $6 for lunch and a raffle ticket or $8 cash day of.

All net proceeds are donated to the New England Handicapped Sports Association (NEHSA). Founded in 1972, NEHSA is a non-profit organization run by and for individuals with disabilities who want to enjoy active and independent lives through participation in sports. I can’t say enough good things about this incredibly strong and dedicated group, I’m pumped that NH SkiUp can support their cause.

Lake Sunapee Region Home Sales January 2013

This January 2013 home sales were down 32.25% compared to January 2012. The median sales price is $1 short of 2012′s median price of $190,000. As I mentioned in my year end home sales posts for the region, our inventory of homes is very low. So I think part of this decrease in sales could be attributed to that factor.
